what is the first stage of election?
dissolution of parliament - at the start of a campaign all MSPs stop being MSPs for 6 weeks

the count - on the day of election votes are counted and the party with the most seats wins the election

produce a manifesto, canvassing, take part in debates, create party political broadcasts
