Explain parliamentary supremacy
A
Parliamentary supremacy refers to the doctrine of parliamentary supremacy, which sets out that parliament is the supreme law making body of New Zealand. Parliament can essentially make or abolish any law it pleases, and the other branches of government are answerable to parliament.

Fitzgerald v Muldoon
- although Muldoon was found to be acting ultra vires, the judiciary knew that as he was in parliament he would abolish the scheme, so there was no point in granting an injunction to reverse his actions.
