What are requirements for simulated instrument flight? (safety pilot included)

A

A) Aircraft has two pilot stations, one of which is occupied by a safety pilot who has a current pilot license and adequate vision forward and to each side of the aircraft, UNLESS they have a competent observer to supplement their vision.
B) Aircraft must have fully functioning dual controls, with pitch, roll, yaw, and and engine power controls able to be operated at either crew station, UNLESS the simulated flight is outside of controlled airspace and the means of simulating flight can be removed rapidly by the pilot in command

Q

Mandatory broadcast zones:

A

A pilot MUST NOT operate an aircraft within a mandatory broadcast zone UNLESS that pilot— makes the following broadcasts on the radio frequency assigned
to the mandatory broadcast zone:
A) at entry
B) when joining the aerodrome traffic circuit of an
aerodrome within the mandatory broadcast zone
C) before entering a runway for take-off from an
aerodrome within the mandatory broadcast zone
D) at any other time at least at the intervals prescribed
for the mandatory broadcast zone
AND
A) maintains a listening watch on the radio frequency assigned to
the mandatory broadcast zone
B) activates, if equipped, the aircraft’s landing lights or anti-
collision lights
AND
A pilot-in-command of an aircraft without an operable radio may
operate within a mandatory broadcast zone for the purpose of enabling
repairs to be made to that radio, but only if—
A) the pilot activates, if equipped, the aircraft’s landing lights or anti-
collision lights
B) if practicable, the pilot-in-command arranges for another person

Q

When can you operate in a GAA?

A

NOT during the night
NOT during the day unless, the GAA is made permanently active throughout the day or if its made active by the appropriate ATC in charge of that GAA, and the pilot follows all instructions given by ATC.

Q

When must the pilot ensure the passengers wear a seat belt?

A

A) during each take-off and landing
B) when the aircraft is flying at a height of less than 1000 feet
above the surface
C) at other times when the pilot-in-command considers it necessary
for their safety
D) during aerobatic flight
E) at all times in an open cockpit aircraft

A pilot-in-command of an aircraft may permit a passenger to unfasten
a shoulder harness or single diagonal shoulder belt during A, and B if the pilot-in-command is satisfied that such action is necessary for the passenger’s performance of an essential function associated with the purpose of the flight.

Paragraph A, B, and C do not apply to a child under 4 years of
age if the child is held by an adult who is occupying a seat or berth, and the child is secured by a safety belt attached to the adult’s safety belt OR the child occupies a seat equipped with a child restraint system, if the child does not exceed the specified weight limit for that system and is accompanied by a parent, guardian, or by an attendant
designated by the child’s parent or guardian to attend to the
safety of the child during the flight.

Q

Use of oxygen equipment:

A

Unpressurised A/C-
A) above 13,000ft AMSL or more than 30 minutes between 10,000ft AMSL up to and including 13,000ft AMSL
Pressurized A/C-
A) anytime cabin pressure altitude is above 10,000ft AMSL
B) anytime above FL350, up to and including FL410, one pilot at a pilot station must wear and use an oxygen mask that either supplies supplemental oxygen at all times or automatically supplies supplemental oxygen whenever the cabin pressure altitude exceeds 13 000 feet AMSL OR two pilots must be at their pilot stations and each pilot to
have access to an oxygen mask that can be placed on the
face and supplying oxygen within 5 seconds
C) anytime above FL410 one pilot at their station must wear and use a demand oxygen mask at all times
D) following a pressurization failure, each passenger must use supplemental oxygen anytime that the A/C is above 14,000ft AMSL, UNLESS the A/C can descend to 14,000ft AMSL or below within 4 minutes.
