Q

In the event that ACARS fails whilst taxiing:

- If unable to receive the Final Loadsheet?

A
  • If unable to receive the Final Loadsheet, return to the gate so that a copy of the Final Loadsheet can be obtained. A signed paper copy must then be left with the departure station.

Note: It is not permissible to depart with only the Preliminary Loadsheet, even if it has been confirmed that there are “no changes”. Signed copy in the envelope.

Q

If take-off minima are not published on the airport chart, state minima should be obtained from the appropriate authority. If they cannot be obtained, the following minima apply:

A

a. If High Intensity Runway Edge Lights (HREDL) and Runway Centreline Lights (RCLL) and Runway Centreline Markings (RCL) are available; Zero ceiling, 200 metres RVR.
b. If HREDL or RCLL or RCL are available or where the runway is marked in such a manner that the pilot at all times has visual reference to the line of forward motion during the take-off run; Zero ceiling, 400 metres RVR.
c. When paragraph a or b is not satisfied; Zero ceiling, 800 metres RVR.

Q

Weather for the Destination At the planned ETA must be above? Visibility…

A

At or above Landing Minima
The following forecast visibilities may be ignored:
PROB of any value
TEMPO (changes expected to occur for periods less than 60 minutes)
INTER* (changes expected to occur for periods less than 30 minutes)
Visibility, when converted to an equivalent RVR, is at or above the minima for landing. If visibility is shown only in kilometres (km) on the NavBlue charts, then the factoring of visibility to provide an Equivalent RVR shall not be used.

Q

Weather for the Destination At the planned ETA must be above? Cloud Ceiling…

A

Cloud ceiling shall be evaluated.
It is not a limiting factor when a precision approach is available.
Cloud ceiling is defined as more than half the sky covered by cloud. The meteorological designations, BKN and OVC, both constitute cloud ceiling.

Q

Weather for the Destination At the planned ETA must be above? LVO….

A

LVO minima may be used to determine landing minima where the aircraft is appropriately equipped, the crew qualified, and a LVO approach is available.
Destination alternate which permits Cat 1 operations should be selected.

Q

If two destination alternate airports required Both destination alternate airports shall have the following requirements:

The weather shall meet the criteria for filing as a destination alternate.
Fuel shall be planned to permit diversion to the most distant of the two selected alternates.

Q

Weather at the Destination Alternate shall be at or above the Company specified “Minima for Filing as an Alternate” hour before and after the ETA at the alternate aerodrome.

A
  • Forecast visibility
  • Cloud ceiling
  • Crosswind shall be forecast to be at or below the aircraft or crew operating limit.
  • Provided they are at, or above, the applicable landing minima, the following forecast weather conditions may be ignored:
    PROB of any value
TEMPO (changes expected to occur for periods less than 60 minutes)
INTER* (changes expected to occur for periods less than 30 minutes)
This does not apply when flights are planned using Island Reserve.
