How is air conduction tested

A

It is tested with the client wearing earphones or using speakers and assesses the quietest sound you can hear. The sound goes through the outer and middle ear(also called pure-tone testing)

How is bone conduction tested

A

A device is put either behind the ear or on the forehead and uses sound to gently vibrate the skull this vibration goes straight. this assesses if you have an innsues in the middle or outer ear and if there is something blocking the ear canal

A

When sounds cannother get through the outer and middle ear. Usuallly this hearing loss is temporary and can be fixed through medicine or surgery
