Part 141.5 (Requirements for pilot school certificate)
- Within 24 CM before date application is made
- Completes application
- Has held a provisional pilot school certificate
- Established a 80% pass rate or higher on the first attempt of all
- Knowledge test, practical test, end of course test for an approved training course
end of course test for special curricula courses - has graduated at least 10 different people
Part 141.7 (Provisional Pilot School Certificate)
Applicant that meets the applicable requirements of subpart A, B, and C of this part, but does not meet the recent training activity requirements 141.5 of this part, may be issued a provisional pilot school certificate with ratings
Part 141.11 (Pilot School Ratings)
- Pilot school meets requirements of 141.5, 141.7
- Applicant may be authorized to conduct the following courses
- Recreational, private, instrument, commercial, ATP(142), CFI, CFII, ground instructor, A/C type rating courses, additional aircraft category or class rating course
Part 141.9 (Examining Authority)
The FAA issues examining authority to a pilot school for a training course of the pilot school and its training courses meet the requirements of subpart D of this section
Part 141.63 (Examining Authority qualification Requirements)
- Must complete an application
- school must hold a pilot school certificate or rating
- must have held the rating in which examining authority is sought at least 24 consecutive CM preceding the month of application for examining authority
- must meet the minimum ground and flight training time requirements of this part
- within 24 CM before the date of application for examining authority, the school must be the following requirements
- at least 10 students in the training course
- At least 90 % of those students passed the required practical or knowledge test
- by an faa examiner or examiner not an employee of this school
- To retain examining authority
- complete an application
- school must hold a pilot school certificate or rating
- must have held the rating in which examining authority is sought at least 24 consecutive CM preceding the month of application for renewal
- must meet the minimum ground and flight training time requirements of this part
Part 141.65 (Privileges)
- A pilot school that holds examining authority may recommend a person who graduated from its courses from appropriate pilot, flight instructor, or ground instructor certificate/ rating w/o taking the FAA knowledge test or practical test in accordance to the provisions of this subpart

Aeronautical Knowledge Training - 35 hours of training if the course is an a airplane, rotorcraft, or power lift category
Airplane single engine course
- 3 hours of XC
- 3 hours of night that includes one XC of more than 100 nm of total distance and 10 T/O and ldings to a full stop at an airport
