Part 1 - Chapter 2 - Fuel System Flashcards
Fuel capacity by component (lbs)
Main tanks: 2 x 728 lbs
Tip tanks: 2 x 384
Other: 28 lbs
Total: 2,252 lbs
Booster pump (location, operation, warning)
Collector tank, DC driven with microswitch on LP cock, low fuel pressure warning if below 5 psi
Tank pressurisation
c. 2psi
Fuel recuperator (capacity and filling)
Filled by booster pump, 25 seconds at 100% rpm
Tank air pressure normal operation
1.5 - 2.5 psi
Fuel float switch test
Time it takes for green light to come on depends on fuel in collector tank, if no green light = valve inop, green light should go off after 2 secs, if stays on > 3secs = issue with fuel supply
Low fuel pressure warning
If pressure at HP cock in,et is < 3psi
Min landing fuel
400 lbs total, min 150 lbs on any side
Booster pump failure
- Check / reset booster pump circuit breaker
- If breaker not popped consider taking out to avoid overheating partially failed pump
- Stay below 12,000 ft
- Land asap
