🍆 — PART 1 Flashcards
aesthetically pleasing and harmonious color combinations based on geometric relationships on the color wheel
Color Harmony
What are the types of color harmonies?
Achromatic Monochromatic Analogous Complimentary Split Complimentary Triadic Tetradic
colorless scheme (no hue) using black whitenand gray only
Achromatic
using a tint tone or shade of just one color (1 hue)
Monochromatic

Moire Patterns
Who is the Psychologist behind Plutchik’s color wheel of emotions?
Robert Plutchik
a technical process where editing software is used to adjust the color contrast and exposure of film footage so that it appears natural and unprocessed
Color Correction
process of stylizing the color scheme of your footage by “painting” on top of what you’ve established through color correction
Color Grading
A process for creating colors starting from primary colors
Color Models or Systems
“traditional color theory” This model was used starting at the 18th century for mixing paints and opaque pigments to produce other colors. It is a subtractive color model
RYB
Who is the credited inventor of CMYK?
Jacob Christoph le Blon
This model is used in Modern Printing. Also a basis for mixing pigments
CMYK
Basis for color in digital screens and gadgets. It is an additive system.
RGB
Who first described the RGB?
Thomas Young and Herman Helmholtz
Made up of six digits—usually preceded by the pound (#) symbol
Hex Codes
Refers to the strength of a color. It describes the color intensity or how pure it is.
Chroma
a qualitative measure about how pure the color looks based on how it appears in its environment and the light.
Saturation
amount of light emitted passing through or reflected from a surface.
Luminance
