They’re fishing boots, not the boots all her friends are wearing. They also made her friends laugh at her and said that he ruined her.
How does Mr. Krabs convince Spongebob to take the boots? Spongebob is so desperate for them that he promises to do what?
He tells him the boots are expensive and his prized possession. He says only the finest are able to wear them. Spongebob will give him his Krusty Krab paycheck, paint the Krusty Krab for free, and he will give Mr.Krabs a free year’s supply of fry oil. He lied to Spongebob and said that they were official fry cook boots.

Squidward goes on vacation because he can’t stand the squeaking. Mr. Krab hates the squeaking, but Spongebob shows him everything he can do with the boots.
Spongebob returns home after work that day. What happened that night?
He says he’s never going to take them off. Mr. Crab sneaks into Spongebob’s house and steals his boots. He takes them back to the Krusty Krab, and hides them under the floorboards. This is just like killing the old man and hiding the body
Spongebob goes back to work and how does he feel?
He’s very sorry, and tries to apologize. When Mr. Krab gives him gloves, he says it’s not the same. He cries, and feels like he let Mr. Krabs down.
Mr. Krabs takes an order from a customer and what happens? What happens when Spongebob chimes in to help? Why is this happening?
He can’t understand what the customer is saying. Spongebob understands, and Mr. Krab starts going insane. He feels guilty, and tells everyone that he took the boots. Everyone is saying squeak, and the menu says squeak all over it.
Describe Mrs. Krabs’s freakout at the end. What parts are almost identical to the TTH?
He starts hearing the squeaking of the boots, just like the guy could hear the heartbeat. No one else could actually hear the boots or the heart beat. It was just the feeling of guilt, and how they were going insane. They both ended up confessing. They both used the floorboard, and Mr. Krab says hideous boots, just like the narrator said hideous heart. They also both said the deed is done.

old man - Mr. Krab liked Spongebob, but not his boots. He’s the victim, and trusts Mr. Krab, and he takes advantage of it.

old man, eye - at first, they were clean, and squeaky, like the eye, and that’s what made him go insane. Before they were stolen, they were like the vulture eye, and after they were buried, they were like the heart beat.
Why make a cartoon that parodies such a dark Poe story?
The kids can watch it as a cartoon, and the parents can enjoy it and know what it means. Teach them not to lie or steal or you’ll go insane.
