A

Smaller group of MP’s who will examine the bill clause by cluase
They can suggest changes
Around 16-50 MP’s

Amendments suggested in the committee stage are reported back to the entire house and voted on
If no changes are suggested then this stage is skipped

Check spelling, punctuation and grammar
Have a final vote

The bill will then go to the other house (lords/commons) and go through first reading to third reading again

A

Where the bill is being put back and forth through the 2 houses
This can go on for maximum a year
Once it exceeds this the final decision ultimately lies with the HoC as we elect them
