Examining and challenging the work of the Government (scrutiny)

A

The principle methods of scrutiny are things such as: questioning, government minister, debating and the investigative work of select committees.

Debating and passing all laws (legislation)

A

Debates are a good way of probing, Parliament is responsible for approving new laws. The gov introduces new plans for new laws or changes in existing laws.
GENDER RECOGNITION ACT 2004 - Allows those over the age of 18 to be recognised and have the right to live by their acquired gender.

A

Parliament will discuss and debate the need to raise/lower taxes dependent on the needs of the country. EG - V.A.T (value added tax)
