- dopaminergic neurones from the SNc send dopamine along nigrostriatal pathways to the dorsal striatum for motor control*?
- degeneration of the nigrostriatal dopaminergic pathway
- degeneration of dopamine neurons of the SNc( substantia nigra pars compacta)
- impaired synth, storage, release of dopamine
- decreased striatal concentration of dopamine
