What is the arrest authority under The Parks Act? What is the arrest authority under the Criminal Code?
Under The Parks Act the authority to arrest is section 32; while under the Criminal Code the authority to arrest is section 495. To arrest under the Criminal Code, 4 requirements must be met:
R- Stop repetition of the offence
I- Identify the person
C- Attend court
E- Secure evidence
What legislation does an alcohol ban fall under?
Alcohol ban in a campground fall under section 107.1 of the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act, 1997 but is also tied to section 32 The Parks Act
When can an enforcement officer arrest within the park?
You can arrest without a warrant under section 32(2) of The Parks Act if a person refuses to leave the park land or returns before the 72 hours of eviction is up

Night shift will start 30 minutes after sunset and will end 30 minutes before sunrise

Essentially make sure everything is within in order in the park for the people working and using park and helping wherever needed

Why is it important for conservation officers to have a code of conduct?
It is important for officer to have a code of conduct so that all officers are held to the same level of standards, whether they are seasonal conservation officers or senior officers. People will always remember how officers treat them so officers must remember to remain professional and level headed when dealing with the public. Because you have a badge you are held to a higher standard, the ministry must be held to these standards, not just one or two people.

Officer discretion is ones ability to make judgment based decisions depending on the offence and the situation unfolding in front of the officer. Things to consider would include: the severity of the offence, any prior convictions, mannerisms towards the officer or offence being committed, and honesty
