Parallel Lines Cut by a Transversal Flashcards
What is a transversal line?
A transversal line is a line that is intersecting two other lines
Corresponding
The angles of the Xs made when the transversal line cuts through match(not the actual angle but the angles location)
Alternate Interior
The angles on opposite sides, on the inside of the two lines
Alternate Exterior
The angles on opposite sides, on the outside of the two lines
Consecutive Interior
The angles on the same side, on the inside of the two lines
Parallel Lines
All the other transversal line stuff applies with addition of the angles being congruent, except Consecutive Interior they are supplementary (they add up to 180 degrees)
Vertical Angles
The top and bottom angles are congruent and the left and right angles are congruent
