Defenstrate
Literal: to throw something or something out a window. Can refer to attempted murder, political overthrow, policy change, or using an injection seat in an aircraft. Take author’s intended meaning from the context.
Defame
To damage someone’s reputation by slander (oral statements) or libel (written statements). Defaming a person can expose him/her to public ridicule or tarnish their reputation. A defamatory libel statement can be true, but is published maliciously (without just cause).
Deforest
To destroy trees (generally used when referring to logging operations, disease or insect attacks, climate change, etc.)
Deprecate
To belittle, depreciate, disparage, deplore, show disapproval, or discount the value of something.
Ad curiam
To court (interpreted before the district court)
Alibi
Elsewhere or in another place
Circa
Round; about the time or approximately
Flagrante delicto
Flagrant transgression (used when perpetrators are caught red-handed while committing a crime)
Ex parte
Out of party or faction (on behalf of one party in a dispute, or without notice to the other party, or without a hearing)
Adversus
Against (abbreviation: ADV) Refers to 2 parties opposing each other in a dispute
Contra
Contrary to (against, on the contrary)
Inter alia
Among other things (abbreviation: IA) Refers to something that occurred in addition to something else.
Non obstante
Notwithstanding (interpreted as in spite of, all the same, nevertheless, or although)
Nota bene
Note well (abbreviation: NB) Use NB to draw attention to information of significant importance.

About fact; interpreted as an actuality, as a matter of fact, or as a matter of law
