Q
Quote + analysis
A
The quote “she lay silenced in the absolute black of a sandy grave” contrasts to the character of Julia. Julia was a lively person, full of life however now that she is dead, she is “silenced” because she can no longer live a full life. This also shows that all the speaker has left of Julia is her memory and he will have to grab on to this memory to remember her and her charming personality.
