What is the Commonwealth
A term used in early modern period to describe the public or the nation.
What is the Justice of the Peace?
A person commissioned to perform certain judicial and other functions within a specified locality in England and Wales.
What is a Yeomen?
Farmers who owned a relatively small amount of land.
What is the Privy Council?
The central governing body convened by royal summons.
What is the Serjeant-at-law?
A senior barrister in the English legal system.
What is Pastoral?
Land used for the rearing of sheep and cattle.
What is Arable?
Arable farmers that concentrate on growing crops rather than keeping animals.
What is a Recusant?
A person who refused to comply with the authority of the Church of England and remained loyal to the Catholic faith.

A person who travels from place to place selling small goods.
