Paper 2; Topics 5-8 Flashcards
Equation for force on a spring?
Force= Spring Constant x Extension
Equation for Elastic Potential Energy?
Elastic Potential Energy= 0.5 x spring constant x extension
Equation for a moment?
Moment = Force x Distance
Equation for fluid pressure?
Pressure= height/depth of the column of liquid x Density of the liquid x Gravitational Field Strength
Equation for Acceleration?
Change in Velocity divided by time
Equation for Constant/ Uniform Acceleration
Final Velocity squared - Initial velocity squared = 2 times Acceleration x Distance
What is Drag?
The resistance you get in a fluid i.e. air resistance. It increases with speed.
Terminal Velocity?
Objects falling through fluids reach a terminal velocity.
Equation for Resultant force?
Resultant force = mass x acceleration
What the actual fuck is inertia and why am i only hearing about it now?
An object’s inertial mass measures how difficult it is to change the velocity of an object. Inertial mass is just the ratio of force over acceleration.
Equation for force.
Change in momentum x change in time
Hey Bea, Why don’t you try and learn the electromagnetic spectrum the day of your GCSE exam because your a fucking idiot? Go ahead, fuckface.
Radio Waves, Micro Waves, Infa Red, Visible Light, Ultra Violet, X rays, Gamma Rays.
What are Radio waves and How are they used?
They are made up of alternating currents of electric and magnetic fields. They are fucking stressing me out. Little oscillating bastards. They are long-wave radio lengths (1-10km) so they can diffract ( bend) so they can travel halfway around the earth by curving and round hills and into tunnels, so they are mainly used for communication. Short- wave radio signals (10m-100m) are what blue tooth uses and what TV and FM radio use.
What are Microwaves?
Microwaves are used by satellites. They do that whole transmitter to space satellite to satellite dish thing. Microwave ovens use a different wavelength from satellites, because they need to be absorbed by water molecules in food, which causes it to heat up.
What is Infrared?
It’s given out by every object, the hotter the object, the ore is given out. Infrared cameras turn this into an electrical current to make heat specific colours. It can cook things, as absorbing it causes something to heat up. Its also what’s in electric heaters.
