• Life has no God-given meaning or purpose.
• Human beings have come about by accident. We do not have a special purpose or a special place in the world.
• The world can be understood through science. The physics and chemistry of the universe are ultimate reality!
• At a fundamental level everything is made up of atoms which themselves are made up of subatomic particles. People do not have a spiritual ‘soul’. There is no spiritual realm.
• Non-religious people might still believe that we cannot experience exactly what the world is really like. They might say that we experience things through our senses and our senses can sometimes be wrong!
