Q

Continental drift theory

A

Proposed by Alfred Wegener, he suggested Pangea a super continent. As all the continents fit together. The huge ocean around it was called Pathalassa.

Q

Evidence for continental drift theory

A
Similar fossils on far apart continents
Similar rock types
Continents fit together
Fossils didn’t match modern climates
Plates more around 35mm a year that’s 1.75 meters in 50 years

Q

How is a tsunami formed?

A

Earthquakes displace water
Water rushes to fill gap in plates
And as it pops back up the displaced water is forced upwards
This builds causing a large wave to form
As it travels across the ocean it grows
