PAPER 1 - Anatomy And Physiology Flashcards
What does the vasomotor control centre do
Responsible for cardiac output distribution
5 stages of conduction system
1) SA node generates electrical impulses and fires through atria walls
2) AV node collects impulses
3) bundle of his splits impulses in 2
4) bundle branches carry impulses to base of each ventricle
5) purkinje fibres distribute though ventricle walls
What is vasomotor tone
The partial state of smooth muscle constriction in the arterial walls
Define linear motion
Movement of a body through a string of curved line where all parts move the same distance in same direction over same amount of time
How is linear force created
Through a direct force applied through the centre of mass
What is displacement
The shortest route between the start and end point of a race
How do you calculate velocity?
Displacement/ time taken
How do you calculate speed
Distance / time taken
How do you calculate acceleration
(Final velocity - initial velocity) / time taken
How do you calculate force
Mass x acceleration
What is the equation for cardiac output
Heart rate x stroke volume
Unit of measurement for SV
L/M
What is sub maximal exercise
Aerobic
How does stroke volume change during aerobic exercise
Increase venous return = increase SV
Sv is dependant on VR
HR increases less time for heart to fill up with blood
What is end diastolic volume
How much blood in heart after relaxation process
