Vomit and Tender
Systematically unwell
Diagnosis Acute Pancreatitis
Amylase: Raised
Lipase: raised (more sensitive and specific)
CRP
Ultrasound: Gallstones
CT Abdo

What is the Glasgow Score
Severity of Pancreatitis
0-1 Mild
2 Mod
3 + Severe
PANCREAS
- Pa02 <8kpa
- Age >55
- Neutrophils >15
- Calcium <2
- Urea >16
- Enzymes (LDH >600 or AST/ALT >200)
- Albumin <32
- Sugar (Glucose >10)
Treating Acute Pancreatitis
ABCDE
IV Fluids
Treat Gallstones (ERCP/Cholcystectomy)
Antibiotics if needed

Key complications of Chronic Pancreatitis?
Chronic Epigastric Pain
Loss of Exocrine Function
Loss of endocrine function = diabetes
formation of pseudocysts or abscesses
Treating Chronic Pancreatitis
Alcohol abstinence
Analgesia
Creon
ERCP with Stent
Surgery
