A - Age >55
N - WCC >15
C - calcium <2.0 mmol/L
R - Urea >16.0 mmol/L
E - Enzymes (AST > 200), LDH >600)
A - albumin <32 g/L
S - Glucose >10 mmol/L

Score of 3 or more indicates severe pancreatitis more likely

What is the Atlanta classification for pancreatitis?

A

Severity scoring criteria based on presence of complications and organ dysfunction in and beyond 48hrs.

Mild = no local or systemic complications or organ failure

Moderate = Local or systemic complications without persisting organ failure (resolves within 48 hrs)

Severe = Persisting organ failure >48hrs
