What medications can you administer for mild pain control?
- Acetaminophen 500mg POx2
- Meloxicam 15mg POx1
What do you look at to administer fluids via vascular access?
Shock/hypotension
How often do you document V/S?
q 5 min for the first 15 min after admin
What medication do you administer for moderate to severe pain?
- Fentanyl 400 mcg OTFC buccal x1
- Fentanyl 100 mcg IN x1
What does OFTC mean?
Oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate
What do you administer for slow reversal of opioid pain control?
Naloxone (0.9mg/mL) and add it to 9mL NS flush, push 20mcg (0.5mL) IV/IO/IN
What do you administer for emergent opioid reversal?
Naloxone 0.4mg IV/IO/IN/IM
What do you administer for emergent opioid reversal for moderate to severe pain?
Ketamine 50mg IN
What will be monitored if medications are administered?
EtCO2
What moderate to severe pain control medication is ideal for Pts who are hypotensive?
- Ketamine 02mg/kg IV/IO
- Ketamine 0.5mg/kg IM/IN
- Fentanyl 1mcg/kg IV/IO/IM
What medicine do you give if ketamine/fentanyl are unavailable and SPB >100 mmHg?
Morphine 2.5-5mg IV/IO
