What’s a ratio:
There are 3 ways to write, 3:1, 3 to 1, and 3 over 1. It’s a comparison of 2 numbers and must be in simplest form, no whole numbers or mixed
What’s a proportion
2 equivalent ratios, 2/7 = x/9, it’s like an equation to find out x.
What is a Unit Rate?
A ratio comparing 2 different units, ex: miles and hrs. Unit rate is when rate is expressed as a quantity of one
Decimals->Fractions/mixed numbers.
Write it like you say it, .12 equals twelve hundredths, 12/100
Decimal to percent
Multiply by 100, (move decimal 2 places to right)
Fraction to decimal
Divide top by bottom- divide numerator by denominator
Fraction to percent
Create proportion!! Ex: 4/5. You do 4/5 equals n/100. This will give you answer to percent
Percent to decimal
Multiple by .01, move decimal two places to left
Percent to fraction
Multiply by 1/100, make sure to write fraction in simplest form
