What type of PACS system is used where images are sent to a central PACS server but also duplicated and sent to specific reading stations

Advantages of server based
All images stored on the server and can be accessed from any PACS server
Only one doctor can have an exam open at a time
Disadvantages of server based
1 network; can be slowed down by the amont of usage
If the PACS server fails, the entire system fails
Advantages of web based
Exams can be accessed from any computer with internet access
Disadvantages of web based
Still need dedicated PACS systems
Entire system speed dependent on internet speed
Advantages of distribution based
If system goes down, images can still be read where they were sent
Multiple copies of images
Disadvantages of distribution based
Tech needs to send exams to the correct PACS reading station
