A

- older man with beard, horses, bulls, dolphins, trident
- Son of Cronus and Rhea and married to Amphitrite (goddess of saltwater)
- Athena became the patron goddess of the city after a competition with Poseidon he offered a salt water fountain and she offered an olive tree and she won
- Arion one of his kids was a horse who could talk
- Poseidon raped Medusa in Athena’s temple which pissed her off and made her turn Medusa into the snake lady

A
- goddess of fertility, ag, nature, and the seasons
- poppy, torch, cornucopia, and pig are her symbols
- daughter of Cronus and Rhea and her daughter by Zeus was Persephone and she has to live in Hades half the year

A
- goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, mathematics, olive oil, strength, reason, intelligent activity, literature, handicrafts and science, defense and strategic warfare, just wars

A
- god of light, Sun god, twin brother of Artemis
- pictured with 9 muses
- Hermes creates the lyre him
- often called Phoebus (bright) Pythias (defeated Python)
- Son of Leto (gave birth on her sister Delos (island))
- Killed a serpent named python 4 days after birth
- Trojan war helped Paris kill Achilles by hurting his heel
- Him and Artemis killed all of Niobes kids after she made fun of their mom (Leto)
- Daphne was a nymph got turned into a tree running from Apollo
- Clytie was in love with Apollo but he loved her sister Leucothea but Clytie tattled on them and her dad buried Leucothea alive and Apollo tried to bring her back which turned her into a Frankincence. Clytie stared at the sun (Apollo) trying to get him back and she turned into a sunflower
- Hyacinth was a male lover of Apollo, he killed him accidentally because Zephyrus blew the wind and he made a flower with tear drops on it in his name
- Cyparissus was given a deer but he killed it on accident and he wanted to cry forever so he got into a Cypress tree
- Hermes got out of his blanket went to Apollo’s cows and took out organs and stuff and made the lyre and Apollo caught him and he got to keep the Lyre
- Pan, a satyr, challenged him in music playing and Pan lost but Midas got mad about that and gave Midas ears of a donkey
- Marsyas challenges him with the flute of Athena and lost and he got skinned alive

A
- Goddess of Hunt, virginity, and the moon
- protector of young girls
- Deer as cypress trees were sacred to her
- She asked for six wishes
- always virgin
- many names apart form Apollo
- light bringer
- bow and arrow and knee length tunic for hunting
- sixty of Oceanus daughter for her choir 20 handmaiden nymphs
- wanted to rule the mountains and help women in childbirth
- had a hunting companion Orion, Gaia sent a giant scorpion to kill him and she put him in the stars (constellation)
- Chariot pulled by 6 golden horned deer
- Callisto was raped by Zeus and got her pregnant and pissed Artemis off so she turned her into a bear and her son came out human and almost killed her and they got put in the stars too (big and Little Dipper)
- Helped kill Niobe’s kids

- Helios saw Ares and Aphrodite enjoying each other in Hephaestus’s hall and he made a net, captured them, and then showed them off to the gods

- got broken legs either when Hera threw him down Olympus after being born because he was ugly or when Zeus and Hera were arguing and Hephaestus took moms side and Zeus tossed him down Olympus

- trapped in throne and was gifted Aphrodite to let his mother out of the throne

- got two snakes of staff when he saw them fighting and they coiled around the stick and since it represents peace they froze

- Hera tried to keep it a secret and killed the mom and then Titans tried to kill him and ate everything but the heart and Zeus sewed the heart into his thigh and he was reborn. YAY
- gave Midas the gold touch which ended up being pretty sucky (touched the pactolus river and that explained why the sand had gold in it)
- brought Hephaestus back to Olympus
