pack Flashcards
What are 4 mononuclear cells?
monocytes
lymphocytes
natural killer cells
dendritic cells
What are granulocytes?
eosinophils
Basophils
neutrophils
mast cells
Name the six monocytes/macrophages
Kupffer cells (liver) (bc when we eat liver they give us an offer soup in a Kup)
Microglial cells
alveolar macrophages
Splenic macrophages
Peritoneal macrophages
Langerhans Cells (skin) (bc when you get anger you raise your hans which have skin)
Name the two Dendritic Cells?
Interdigitating dendritic cells
Plasmacytoid dendritic cells
Name the two types of Natural Killer cells
Cytoxic and cytokine producing
(cytokine, kine kind of sounds like kill)
What 3 cells function using Phagocytosis?
Neutrophils (bc the multilobed nucleus looks like it is contents of something that has been phagocytosized)
Macrophages (from the name, macrophages)
Dendritic Cells (bc the endings of dendrites look like a mouth opening like phagocytosis)
What cell functions using cytotoxicity?
Natural killer cells
What 3 cells work in activation of adaptive immunity
Macrophages (classic)
Dendritic Cells (bc neurons get stronger the more you use them)
NK Cells (bc they are natural killers so they can easily adapt)
What 3 cells work in Hypersensitivity IgE-Mediated Inflammation?
Mast Cells
Eosinophils
basophils
(makes sense bc when you get inflammation you might get some sort of pink spots on your skin that look like granules)
What is the job of NETS?What cell uses them?
Function: “bags” of residue of ingested substances from phgocytosis. Also acts as danger signals for surronding cells.
Cell that uses them: Neutrophil
What is antigen presentation in macrophages?
Macrophages engulf a foreign substance and attach the foreign substances antigen to the macrophage’s surface to intiate the **adaptive immune system. **
What cells use cytokines
NK
Macrophages
Dendritic cells
What are the antigens of the ingested foreign substance in phagocytosis called?
co-stimulatory molecules
How do NK cells recognize that a cell is foreign?
Recognize and kill target cells with absent or altered
HLA molecules
What cells are resposible for parastic worms destruction and allergies?
Basophils
Eosinophils
Mast cells
