P8 Flashcards
What is displacement.?
It is the distance to an object directly to it so it is a vector because it gives a distance and a direction (directly to its endpoint).
What is the equation for speed?
Distance/time
Equation for acceleration?
V-u/t
Equation for work done?
Work done = Force x distance
Equation for the moment?
Moment = Force x perpendicular distance
Equation for pressure?
P = F/A Pressure = Force / Area
Equation for current ?
Current = charge / time
Equation for specific heat capacity?
Mass x shc x temperature change
Equation for energy ?
Energy = power x time
Equation for Power?
Work done / time
Equation for weight ?
Mass x gravitational field strength (9.81)
Equation for density?
Density = Mass / Volume
Equation for momentum
M = Mass X Velocity
Equation for Kinetic Energy?
0.5 x Mass x Velocity*2
What is newtons 3rd Law?
It states that when 2 objects collide/interact, they exert equal opposite forces on each other. The unit of force is Newton (N).
Newton’s Second Law of Motion (Force)
The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied.
