when the brakes are pressed work done by the friction force between the brakes and the wheel reduces the kinetic energy of the vehicle and the temperture of the brakes increaes.

when a spring is streched and can then return to it’s original length.

when a spring is streched and it’s length is permently altered
limit of permentaly
length of the spring can be streched beyond before it no longer able to return to it’s original length
