- Argument of deterrence - Capital punishment is moral because it is a deterrent of brutal crimes.
- Argument of retribution - Capital punishment is moral because capital punishment is equal treatment for those who commit brutal crimes.
What are the weaknesses of each argument?
Argument of deterrence - it states a false sociological claim, it says that the more people are excited then crime rates go down, a negative correlation
Argument of retribution - equality is not always possible. if someone kills 5 people, you can’t kill that person 5 times.
