P3: Particle Model Of Matter (triple) Flashcards
What creates pressure?
Particles in a gas colliding with the container exerting a force on it.
How can you find the density of any solid object?
Fill a eureka scan with water and put object in. Measure volume of water that overflowed. Divide object’s mass by this volume.
How do you find the density of a liquid?
Zero a measuring cylinder on a scale then add 10ml of liquid. Weigh to find volume. Add 10ml more repeatedly then find the average of the multiple densities.
What is the name of the process in which a solid becomes a gas?
Sublimating
What is specific latent heat?
The amount of energy required to change the state of 1kg of a substance.
What is pressure?
the net outward force at right angles to the surface of the container.`
