What type of materials can become charged by friction?
A
Only insulators can be charged.
Metals (conductors) do not charge by friction because the electrons can flow.

What type of charges repel and attract?
A
Like charges repel (+ and + or - and -)
Opposite charges attract (+ and -)

When we become charged by friction why does our hair stand on end?
A
If we are charged, all of our body is charged. The hairs all have the same charge and so repel each other

What causes static electricity?
A
Electrons are transferred from one object to another leaving one positively charged and the other negatively charged
