P2-2 Forces(N) Flashcards
What is the resultant force?
The adding up of all the forces acting on an object. If it is 0, the speed doesn t change.
What are action and reaction forces?
Its the law where objects always exert equal and opposite forces on each other.
If an object accelerating, what is happening?
A resultant force is acting on it.
What is needed for an object to change direction?
A resultant force
Equation for resultant force?
F=m x a
F=resultant force n
M= mass kg
A= acceleration m/s*2
What is the distance traveled during the drivers reaction plus the traveled under the braking force?
The stopping distance.
How can the thinking distance be increased?
If the driver is tired or intoxicated.
How can the braking distance be increased?
Poorlu maintained roads, bad weather conditions or bad conditions of the car.
What is weight on a falling object?
The weight of an object is the force of gravity on it. 10m/s*2
What happens when an object falls in a fluid?
The fluid exerts a drag force upon it.
What is the extension?
Difference between the lentgh of a spring and its original length. It is directly proportional to the force applied on it.
Why are speed cameras linked in pairs?
To work out a accurate average.
What do anti skidding surfaces do?
Increase friction.
