P1 And P2 Flashcards
Newton‘s third law definition
When two bodies interact, they exert a force upon each other that is equal in size but opposite in direction
What do free body diagrams show
A diagram to show all the forces acting on a single body
Resultant force
Hypotenuse of the vector triangle = sum of all forces acting on a body
Resolving forces
To resolve forces: find out components - How much on vertical and horizontal plane
Newton‘s first law
A body will remain at rest or continue to move at a uniform velocity, unless acted upon by a resultant force
Inertia
The measure of how difficult it is to change the velocity of an object
Newton second law
The acceleration experience by a body is directly proportional to the resultant force acting upon it and in the same direction
Newton’s second law equation
Force (N) = mass (kg) * acceleration (m/s2)
