P1 Flashcards
The difference between weight and mass.
The mass of an object stays the same wherever it is but weight changes if an object goes to a place of stronger or weaker gravity.
Difference between and scalar and vector.
Scalar quantities a quantities which direction is not important. (Time\Mass)
Vector is a quantity were direction is important. (Force/Acceleration)
Difference between Distance and Displacement.
Distance is a SCALAR.
Displacement is a VECTOR.
Difference between VELOCITY and SPEED.
Velocity HAS a DIRECTION.
Speed does NOT have a DIRECTION.
Define Acceleration.
To speed up.
Define force
Is a push or pull upon an object.
Define Momentum
The strength or force that something had when it is moving.
Define Energy
Is the capacity for doing work. It exists as potential, kinetic, thermal, electrical, chemical, nuclear…
Distance/Time/Speed
Distance = Speed x Time
Typical speed for walking.
5 km/h
Typical speed for running.
10 mph
Typical cycling speed.
40 km/h
Typical speed for driving.
60 mph
Distance, Velocity, Time formula
Distance = Velocity x Time
Acceleration, time, change in speed FORMULA.
Acceleration X Time
