P1 Flashcards
What is conduction?
Conduction is where one particle has heat energy this energy is transferred by the particle vibrating and the energy is transferred to the next particle. This carries on and happens best in solids and worse in liquids.
What is convection?
Convection is where one particle has energy and it moves upwards.
What is radiation?
Objects that have energy throw the energy out across space.
What is evaporation
When the particles on the top of the liquid gain enough energy to break free.
What is specific heat energy?
Specific heat capacity is the energy required to raise the temperature of 1kg of a material by 1 degree.
How do you work out a percentage?
You divide the small number by the bigger number
