P1 Flashcards
If an object is stationary on a distance- time graph?
The line is horizontal.
If an object is moving at a constant speed on a distance- time graph?
Is a straight line that slopes upwards.
Velocity of an object?
Its speed in a given direction. (If object changes direction it changes velocity, even if speed stays same). If velocity of object changes= accelerates.
Gradient on a velocity line graph represent?
Acceleration. Steeper gradient, greater acceleration.
If the line on velocity time graph horizontal?
Acceleration=zero. Object travelling at a steady speed.
If the gradient of the line is negative? (Velocity graph).
Object=decelerating.
What does the gradient on a distance- time graph represent?
An object’s speed (travelled each second). Steeper the gradient, greater the speed.
