Q

9 basic components of the electric motor system

A
Air filter
Cooling fans
Yoke
Compole
Main pole
Armature
Commutator
Brush gear
17
Q

6 stages of electrical propulsion motor cooling

A
  1. Cool air is drawn through a filter into the motor
  2. This is done by 2 forced ventilation fans
  3. The air is then forced over the main poles, armature, commutator and brush gear
  4. The cool air absorbs the heat generated in the motor
  5. It is exhausted from the motor at the commutator end
  6. The air is then forced through a water cooled heat exchanger into the engine room
18
Q

what does IEP stand for

A

Integrated Electric Propulsion system
