No, because you need a minimum of 1675 lbs of fuel to use the Hydraulic pumps or else you will cause damage to the Hydraulic system. Hydraulic cooling.
How do you properly open the weapons bay door (from what location)?
From the ground maintenance panel
Can we open the weapons bay door from the flight station? Why or why not?
Using flight station commands a higher rate flow for the hydraulic system that the electric pumps cannot provide. The flight station switch may only be used with engines online (engine driven hyd pumps) or with a hydraulic power cart. It can damage the pumps.
What pin must be removed before clearing WBDDS (weapons bay) faults?

How many fire bottles does the APU have?

What is the procedure of the DC boost pump on APU startup?
A dc-operated APU fuel boost pump is installed to ensure positive fuel pressure to the APU fuel control unit. During APU start and operation, the pump operates automatically when the aircraft fuel system pressure sensors detect low fuel pressure. The pump shuts off automatically when an ac fuel pump pressurizes the fuel manifold. If the ac and dc fuel pumps are not operating fuel is suction fed from the No. 1 tank.

What is done prior to starting the APU?
Verify in ADB power can be applied.
What type of landing gears are found on a P-8?
Tricycle type with air/oil shock struts
How do you identify brakes are worn?
When one of the four brake wear indicator pins are flush when brakes are set.
When are tires required to be replaced?
If it has a soft spot, bulge, crack or cut showing cord, flat spot showing cord, tread worn beyond limits, tire pressure drops 10% below nominal pressure.
How many shimmy dampers are located on the P-8? Where are they located?
Two, one on each Main landing gear
The nose wheel steering acts as the shimmy dampener on the nose

What is the purpose of the Frangible fittings? Where are they located?
IF a damaged tire is retracted into the wheel well, it will hit the frangible fitting, which will break and remove hydraulic pressure from the MLG actuator. They are located adjacent to MLG wheel well on both poet and starbord side.
How can you tell if a torque trip indicator is tripped?
The center is extended, not flush.

Ues,you only have 30 seconds after the fuel panel is open to hook up and begin refueling. if not the fuel valve will close and you have o close the oanel and reset the fuel valve.

7, 2 AC powered boost pumps in each main and center tank and one DC in main 1
What must you ensure about the hose when refueling?
Make sure there is no tension on the hose. The hose MUST hang freely with no force on it, Tension can cause damage to the fuel receptacle and cause the hose to disconnect. Injuries and damage to equipment can occur.
Can you start the APU during refueling operations?
Yes, as long as it is the initial start or restart after normal shutdown.
Can you restart the APU if it fails during refueling operations?
No, wait until refueling is complete. If you dont wait damage to the APU or injury to personnel can occur.
Which tanks must be full before filling thr FWD and AFT aux tanks?

What is the engine inlet hazard area?
idle: 10 ft radius from inlet and 4 ft aft of inlet. (increases 20% when winds are over 25 kts)
Breakaway: 14 ft radius from inlet and 5 ft aft of inlet
What is the start procedure with an air start unit?
Pre-op all SE being used. Guide the lineman into the safety diamond. Hook up the 108, start it up and make sure power is available. Then hook up the huffer and position it correctly behind stbd wing with exhaust facing away from the aircraft. Make sure the hose is fully laid out with no kinks and make sure there is no damage, then power up unit. Then the pilot will tell you they have electrical power. Pilot will tell you to apply bleed are, then turn up engine one, after engine one is up tell your lineman to shut down and disconnect huffer and 108 and push them out of the safety diamond. Guide lineman in and out of safety diamond, then start engine two.
What type of oil is used to service the engines?

When can you get an accurate oil servicing reading?
5 to 30 minutes after engine shut down.
Why do we wait 5 minutes prior to servicing oil?
To allow pressure to decrease from engines.
What conditions would we not service oil?
T-1 or missed the 5-30 minute window.
How do you annotate the oil consumption sheet in ADB if oil is not serviced?
“NOT SERVICED”
How do you annotate the Turnaround if oil is not serviced?
“SERVICING NOT REQUIRED”

Do we service engine oil after ground maintenance turns? Why?
No. Ground maintenance turns do not usually heat engine oil enough to get an accurate reading on servicing gauge, and oil consumption is based on flight hours.
When do you stop servicing engine oil?
When you reach the lower fill mark on the servicing gauge.
How do we know if there is sufficient engine oil for flight when we cannot get an accurate reading on the servicing gauge?
The oil qty on the flight station CDU (note: Max reading is 19 Qts)
Why does engine 2 hold more oil than engine 1?
Due to the dihedral of the wing
What is required to be locked out prior to opening the engine cowling doors during the daily inspection?
Standby hydraulics and leading edge.
How do you know if an IDG was disconnected?
A click is felt when pulling IDG disconnect reset ring
