Q

stages of oxidative phosphorylation

A
  • electrons released from reduced coenzymes NADH and FADH
  • electrons flow along the electron transfer chain in series of redox reactions
  • electrons release energy which is used to join:
    ADP + Pi —> ATP
  • oxygen is the final electron acceptor : it combines with e- and H+ to form water
