Q

Definition: Isometric

A

(Deltoid) holds in ABduction

17
Q

Definition: Concentric

A

(Deltoid) shortens to raise arm in ABduction

18
Q

Definition: Eccentric

A

(Deltoid) lengthens to lower arm in ADduction

19
Q

Prognosis (less severe)

A

Dependent on severity. Usually pain subsides in 2-4wks with full recovery 6-8wks

20
Q

Prognosis (severe)

A

Healing can take 8+ wks

21
Q

3 stages of healing

A

Acute. Post acute/proliferation. Remodelling

22
Q

3 muscle injury grades

A

Mild. Moderate. Severe

23
Q

Biceps brachii origins

A

Long head: supraglenoid tubercle & glenohumeral labrum. Short head: coracoid process

24
Q

Biceps brachii insertion

A

Radial tuberosity & bicipital aponeurosis
