Overbets Flashcards
Give three reasons from the flop we do not want to over bet on the turn
- It was a monotone flop
- It was a paired flop
- It was a very unfavourable flop, often low con for example (542, 654ss etc)
Give three general reasons for the turn card when not to over bet
- Board pairs especially mid or bottom card
- Flush completes
- Straight completes (Unless you have a big edge in them normally if AK or AQ is needed to complete the straight in spots like BU v BB where they 3b those hands normally)
What turn cards do we want to over bet on
Generally bricks or cards that improve our equity (non st, non flush completing) example
K74r a 2 is a blank did not improve them so we have strong hands and bluffs (polarised)
K74r a T improves are equity so is a mandatory over bet
On lower boards like T83r what cards to we like to over bet
Non A, non straight completing over card
What can we say about A turn cards
Generally we are not over betting as much but k high flops are special as we have such a AK advantage.
On a K74r board BU v BBcc we bet the flop small what turns are nice to over bet
2, T,J,Q,K,A we see the boards pairs we still like to over bet somewhat as we have Kx advantage.
Very Generally what type of hands do we bet on the turn
- Good top pair plus
- FDs
- OSEDs (If we have a lot check some)
- GSs mixed normally depending how many
But need to think how the turn helped us or them, what hands call you bet.
