Serous- oviduct-ish w/ cilia; most common
Mucinous- cervix-ish w/ picket fence basal nuclei & get rly rly big!
Endometroid- ebdometrioma chocolate cyst
Brenner Cell Tumor- adenofibroma small and solid bladder related

A

Cystic dermoid teratoma
3 germ layers, usu ectoderm skin, hair, nails, nervous tissue
HIGH FAT CONTENT!!
Ovary torsion
Struma Ovarii- thyroid tissue in ovary can produce hyperthyroid!

Ovarian Fibroma- from spindle cell collagen; if w/ ascites and R pleural effusion= Meigs Syndrome

A

Deadliest gynecological cancer
High recurrence
Age 50-60
Not detected until advanced b/c very everyday symptoms & poor screening
1/70 risk incr until age 70
Nulliparity, infertile, BRCA, HNPCC Lynch Syndrome are risk factors b/c ovaries overworked w/ovulation
Better to get pregnant, take OCP
Need do pelvic exam, transvaginal ultrasound, CA125

Malignant germ cell ovarian neoplasm

A

Most common women under 20
Bad prognosis
Dysgerminoma- very chemo&radioactive, clear cell
Immature Teratoma- good prognosis w/ oophorectomy
Endodermal Sinus Tumor- check AFP
Embryonal Cell Carcinoma- check AFP and HCG
These LAST TWO are rly fatal w/ kids and teens! :(
