Rupture - sudden lower abdo/pelvic pain

Ovarian torsion - severe abdo pain plus nausea

fever, localised abdominal tenderness +/- mass

Urine pregnancy test
FBC
Pelvic USS

What management should be given?

Answer 4

Analgesia and antiemetic
If torsion is suspected - call gynaecology reg, admit and prepare for emergency OT - consent for ovarian cystectomy +/- oopherectomy
