Asymptomatic, pain, menstrual disruption, pressure.
Complexity of cyst on USS: solid, septae, bilateral, free fluid.

A
Torsion, rupture, haemorrhage, infection

How is torsion of an ovarian cyst treated?
A
Salpingo-oophorectomy (if ovary cannot be saved)

What are the types of cysts (neoplasms) of the ovary?
A
Epithelial - benign, borderline, malignant
Germ cell- benign, malignant
Stromal - benign, malignant

How is ovarian cancer treated?
A
Surgery - staging / debulking
Chemotherapy
Avastin - targets a cancer cell vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)
