What is tampering?
A conscious act or omission of an act by an individual in violation of plant procedures that could result in one ore more of the following:
- Damage to the Plant.
- Falsification of data, records, or reports.
- Deviation from regulations, laws, or procedures related to plant activities and operation.
- Alteration or destruction of the evidence related to an act described above.
- Withholding of information and/or evidence associated with an act described above.
What is an AEO’s responsibilities in regards to tampering?
Report it to the Shift manager and Security.
Maintain a heightened state of awareness in the plant of actions or indications, which may indicate further manifestations of tampering.
What should AEO’s do if they find or suspect tampering?
- Report it to Shift Manager and Security.
- Assist the control room in taking the corrective actions as necessary to place the plant in a safe condition.
- Assist the Shift Manager and security in quarantining the area and preserve the evidence.
What will you need to open disconnects for outside lighting?
- A3 key for Livingston road throw switch.
- A43 key for switch yard access (765kv and 69kv).
- Hot stick.
- Loadbuster.
- Flashlight.
Why do you need a hot stick and load buster for opening outside lighting disconnects?
Because they are under load.
If you find or suspect tampering why do you quarantine the area?
To preserve the evidence.
If you are tasked to open outside lighting where would you have to go to do this?
765kv yard.
69kv yard.
Livingston road disconnect.
