It made cotton more valuable, the biggest cash crop in the South.

Increased the want for more land to produce more cotton, so they bought more land west to produce more cotton.
What was the result of Nat Turner’s revolt?
The southern states got scared and captured free and enslaved black men who had nothing to do with the revolt and executed them out of fear. Tennessee changed its constitution and made it so that free blacks couldn’t vote.
How did steam power impact industrialization?
Factories became more innovative, impacted transportation on railroads and steamships, allowed raw materials to get to factories cheaper and faster, and made it to that they could move away from rivers and work through drier seasons.
How did industrialization lead to urbanization?
It made more people want to move to the US for jobs.
How did railroads and steamboats change life in the 1800’s?
More profits for businesses, movement of people and products cheaper and easier, more markets to sell products to, and national unity by linking distant places.
