Action taken to remove from sale, distribution and consumption, foods which may pose a risk to consumers
What are the objectives of a food recall?
- Stop the distribution sale of production Asap
- inform: government, food business that have recieved the recalled food, public ( consumer level recall only )
- effectively and efficiently REMOVE unsafe product from the market place
what does lot identification include in food labelling?
- identifies the packaging premises and job lot
- Coded by numbers or letters ( used for recall )
what does the mandatory warning and advisory statements and declarations include in food labelling ?
mandatory: Must be included on the label
Declarations: Foods that may trigger a reaction to a consumer must be declared
