Lighting state

Lighting cue
The number given to a lighting state or the line of dialogue/action that is the cue for the operator to go to the next lighting state
Cross Fade
Going from one lighting state to another over a period of time
Snap
- Immediate change of light e.g.: snap blackout
- Can be used for dramatic effect

Haze
Enhance lighting and create a heavy/dusty atmosphere
Fog
- Low lying wide spread smoke
- Very thick
- Usually used in a fantasy/dream
Equalisation
Process of fine tuning the sound signal frequencies so that it is clear
Reverb
Used on vocals and instruments, adds depth to the signal
Ambience
Layered and longer sound effect to create an atmosphere of time or location for the audience e.g.: Sound son birds
Soundscape
All of the music an ambience used throughout the piece
